It´s 9pm here in Dublin and I am still awake. I went to bed nearly an hour ago but I just can´t sleep.. It´s too warm, the sheep outside are too noisy… and I slept in the car till 3.15pm; that definitely doesn´t help. It was a nice sleep though and when I was waking up I had decided to go right back to sleep. But mummy said we were at the lakes now and that we were gonna go and see them. I was NOT happy and started whinging and crying and stretching and moaning.. and took my time waking up. Oma Tina gave me some wine gums and I felt happier for a minutes and started joking and playing with mommy, but got upset again when she said it´s time to get out of the car now. I really was very tired and cried when mommy left me and Oma Tina alone in the car after she had tried to put my boots on and I kept whinging about it. But you see, my socks were not right inside!
And it had been such a nice morning; we woke up at 7.30 and had yummy breakfast with breadrolls and boiled eggs. We took our time getting ready and went to Dalkey, where we enjoyed some very nice views! I was walking a good bit with Oma Tina while mom waited in the car. We went into Dalkey town then, parked the car and walked to the restaurant where we met mom´s former boss Betty and her husband Brian and a former colleague of mums with her baby. On the way there mom noticed that the tramyard cafe, where she had eaten with dad and auntie Deirdre years before, was gone. It´s a shame, she said, such a nice place. As we still had a bit of time we went into a little shop and Oma Tina got a postcard from Dalkey, mommy exchanged her scratchcards for new ones for the 2nd time since we are here and I got a new book! I started reading it with Oma Tina, then had bangers and mash and vanilla ice cream (!!!) and then read it again with Brian, while holding on to Oma Tina.
So after the lunch mommy said that we could go to the lake (Glendalough) if I sleep in the car because it was a long drive. So I said I´ll try and did it no problem. It was just the waking-up part hat was tricky… We ended up haveíng a nice time at the lake though; I got to climb a bit beside the track, saw a little waterfall and threw stones and sticks into the lake; lots of them! On the way back to the car I said to mommy that I want to come here again. Mommy said we won´t go back here but there will be other nice places to visit like Howth, where we can watch the seagulls eat the fish pieces left over frm the fishermen´s catch. She said I was there before but I can´t remember.
Now it´s 9.20pm and I´m asleep…
