Today we went to Ireland!

When I woke up, mommy and daddy were already getting brekfast ready and packing the last few bits and pieces. Opa Günther drove us to the bus stop and we took the bus to the airport.

Being on the airplane was less boring than I thought, because mommy had a princess-sticker book for me and I spent a lo-hot of time dressing the princesses in beautiful dresses! Mommy also got me a cup with ice cubes so I was busy most of the time. After landing we met aunty Zozo and uncle Micheal at the airport; they were heading to Poland for a wedding and we go to see them for an hour before their flight left. First I was very shy, even though I did remember them. I hardly said anything and kept turning away. but then when mummy and Zoe and Michael and daddy got talking and nobody was talking to me, I started playing the clown to get attention. It worked and Zoe and Michael played with me lots and after that and the flight I got really tired and fell asleep in the car on the way to auntie Zozo´s house.

Mommy stopped off to get fish´n`chips for us and when we got there we ate almost all of it, even though we had thought it was way too much. It was very yummy!

I checked out the house and the bedrooms and was allowed to chose my own bed. Also auntie Zozo has a few teddy bears and I played with them for a while before we went off to go shopping. We went to Lidl (I thought we were back home in Berlin!) but didn´t go in and had to go back to the car. I didn´t understand why but mummy explained to me that there were some young kids trying to get in the shop and that they wanted to rob stuff and she didn´t want me getting hurt. The security men were trying to fight them off, but there were too many and they got in a few times… So then I said that maybe they wanted to become thieves when they grew up, but their parents didn´t want them to and mummy said that even though they were only 8 or 9 they were already thieves!!

Back home I had dinner; mommy didn´t cause she was heading out to meet auntie Claire for dinner. I played with daddy for a while and then got ready for bed. After he read „Das kleine Gespenst“ to me, he said I could play for 10 minutes in my room and then he would come and turn the light off. Well didn´t he get a big surprise when he came back 10 minutes later and I was fast asleep with the light off! And mummy was very proud of me when daddy told her the next morning! 🙂

Feya: Wenn ich groß bin, will ich eine Mama von 3 Kindern sein. Ein Junge und 2 Kindern… 2 Mädchen.

Mama: What does Mia want to be when she is a grown-up?

Feya: Mia will eine Feuerwehrfrau sein.

Mama: What about you? Do you want to work or just stay at home with the kids?

Feya: Stay at home with kids.

Mama: Really? You don´t want to work like mommy and daddy? You can do both!

Feya: Doch ich will auch arbeiten.

Mama: As a Firemanwoman?

Feya: Nein.

Mama: What then? You could be whatever you want… you could be a doctor… or a teacher like uncle Bati…

Feya: Und like Opa Günther!

Mama: Yes, or you could be a builder…

Feya: Ja! A builder!!!

It´s 9pm here in Dublin and I am still awake. I went to bed nearly an hour ago but I just can´t sleep.. It´s too warm, the sheep outside are too noisy… and I slept in the car till 3.15pm; that definitely doesn´t help. It was a nice sleep though and when I was waking up I had decided to go right back to sleep. But mummy said we were at the lakes now and that we were gonna go and see them. I was NOT happy and started whinging and crying and stretching and moaning.. and took my time waking up. Oma Tina gave me some wine gums and I felt happier for a minutes and started joking and playing with mommy, but got upset again when she said it´s time to get out of the car now. I really was very tired and cried when mommy left me and Oma Tina alone in the car after she had tried to put my boots on and I kept whinging about it. But you see, my socks were not right inside!

And it had been such a nice morning; we woke up at 7.30 and had yummy breakfast with breadrolls and boiled eggs. We took our time getting ready and went to Dalkey, where we enjoyed some very nice views! I was walking a good bit with Oma Tina while mom waited in the car. We went into Dalkey town then, parked the car and walked to the restaurant where we met mom´s former boss Betty and her husband Brian and a former colleague of mums with her baby. On the way there mom noticed that the tramyard cafe, where she had eaten with dad and auntie Deirdre years before, was gone. It´s a shame, she said, such a nice place. As we still had a bit of time we went into a little shop and Oma Tina got a postcard from Dalkey, mommy exchanged her scratchcards for new ones for the 2nd time since we are here and I got a new book! I started reading it with Oma Tina, then had bangers and mash and vanilla ice cream (!!!) and then read it again with Brian, while holding on to Oma Tina.

So after the lunch mommy said that we could go to the lake (Glendalough) if I sleep in the car because it was a long drive. So I said I´ll try and did it no problem. It was just the waking-up part hat was tricky… We ended up haveíng a nice time at the lake though; I got to climb a bit beside the track, saw a little waterfall and threw stones and sticks into the lake; lots of them! On the way back to the car I said to mommy that I want to come here again. Mommy said we won´t go back here but there will be other nice places to visit like Howth, where we can watch the seagulls eat the fish pieces left over frm the fishermen´s catch. She said I was there before but I can´t remember.

Now it´s 9.20pm and I´m asleep…

When we woke up this morning there was snow everywhere! So we had breakfast and then got ready to go outside. It took a while to get all the clothes on but once we were out it was all worth it! I lay in the first bit of snow that I found and cleared all of it off the banister. Then we threw some snowballs a each other and I tried to make a snow angel. We weren´t even at the next corner yet when I got a terrible tummy ache and we had to go back up to our room. We all went to bed for a while and I had tea and kept my tummy warm. Then mommy said that maybe we could build a little snow man on our terrace. Daddy and I thought that was a great idea so we went outside and threw snow at each other and made a slippery slope. Then we went back inside and mommy and I went to have a little break and slept for an hour and a half.

When we woke up we all went ice skating. Well, in the end mommy was the only one who did any skating. Daddy tried but couldn´t do it cause his ankles were sore in the shoes and I kept falling, even though we had a thingy to hold on to this time. It was a seat you could push along the ice so I was sitting on it most of the time while mummy pushed me around real fast! I was still not feeling right and had a temperature again last night so mummy didn´t mind. The only thing was that my feet got cold and I got cold quite soon. So we decided to find a restaurant to have dinner in. First we found a nice place, but they were closed for another half hour. Cause we were cold and I was sick we didn´t want to wait and went to the next place but they didn´t have a table for us. So in the end we went to a restaurant that looked ok but turned out to be greek. Mommy and daddy were not too happy but I was being very good and entertaining myself and everyone else and enjoying my dinner so they were happy, too.

When we got back to the hotel we had a note on our door saying that our heating was broken and we could move to a bigger room instead. I didn´t mind; I went for a shower in the new room while mommy got my bed ready and then I watched the little Maulwurf in bed with daddy. After all he excitement today it was hard for me to wind down and it took me a while to fall asleep; but after some coughing I am now snoring away on my little Thomas mattress. Night night!

Today we picked Lilah up from Kita – mommy came to pick me up and then we went to her Kita with Judy and my scooter. The four of us walked home through the park and stopped on both playgrounds we passed. We were a bit cold by the time we got home and mommy made us warm milk with honey. We had pasta with tomato sauce for dinner after dad and Chrissy arrived and Lilah got very upset when she had to go home; we had just started playing ice skating and were putting on different dresses. I let Lilah wear my Anna and Elsa ballet dress and said yes when she asked if she could bring it home. But Chrissy and mom said no and Lilah was crying big time. So I went to my wardrobe and took out two other dresses. I let her choose one to bring home and then she was happy again. And mommy was so proud of me she nearly cried. I also gave Lilah my donkey-teddy and another toy. And then we went to the window to wave her and Chrissy good-bye.

Today mommy picked me up from Kita together with Vinci and Oma Tina!! I was delighted and we went to the garden and Vinci and I jumped around on the trampoline for a while and then went to play in the sand. We made chocolate ice creams for Oma Tina and mom. Then Vinci watered the flowers with Oma Tina and I did some drawing with chalk and then went back to playing with Vinci. At first he didn´t want to but I called and called him till he gave in. We played that he was tha fox and I was scared and we were running arund like mad yokes and I was screaming and got so excited that I peed in my pants for the first time in ages, Luckily mummy had another pair of pants and we found socks in the bag of clothes that Katharina the garden owner had left to give back to us (because her daughter wears the clothes that I´ve grown out of). Vinci also wet his pants but he didn´t pee in them, he just wsn´t quick enough to put the hose into the watering can before the water came out. He had to wear pyjama pants from Katharinas older daughter. Just before heading home I started to have a pain in my hip and told momm I couldn´t walk. So she carried me to the car and into the flat and my hip was still sore but got better then. Mommy is worried it could have something to do with when I fell off the slide but hopefully I will be fine again tomorrow. I was wrecked anyways and went to sleep about a half an hour earlier than usual. Tomorrow Oma Tini and Vinci will pick me up together with mom again and then we will come home and have cake with Uroma!

Mommy and I went to Kita and back on the big bike today. I was quiet on the way to Kita but chatting away loads on the way home. I told her that we had been given sweets at Kita and who I played with today. I also said that I pushed Mia but I tell her that nearly every day even though Mia and I are best friends…

At home we played with the Play-doh I got for Easter and when André called I told him what else the Easter bunny had brought: chocolate and a book. When we were getting ready for bed, our neighbor Frau Keil called down with anoher treat for Easter; a op and more chocolate! I wanted to keep the chocolate in my room nut daddy put it i  the siting room and said I could have it tomorrow.

I swapped my bedtime story for a bit more play-doh time but mommy sais we won´t do that again because I was all wired going to bed. When mommy turned off the light in the hall half an hour later I was still awake and came out of bed to tell her to leave the light on.

Last week mommy bought a new game at the flea maket; its called the monkey game and I love it. I have played it with mommy, daddy, Uwe, Omi Evi, Opa Günter, Oma Tina and Opa Günther. But since I got PLay-doh for Easter three days ago I have forgotten its existence.
